As part of a “drug” investigation targeting public figures conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, detention orders were issued for multiple individuals; singer Mabel Matiz was detained within the scope of the investigation.
As part of a “drug” investigation targeting public figures being conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, detention orders were issued for 25 people. Singer Mabel Matiz was detained within the scope of the investigation.
It was stated that the 25 individuals under investigation were detained on charges of “purchasing, accepting, possessing, or using narcotic or stimulant substances for personal use” and “facilitating the use of narcotic or stimulant substances”.
In a statement issued by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, it was said that, within the scope of an investigation into individuals who facilitate drug use, provide locations for such use, and use narcotic substances, instructions were given to the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command to carry out detentions, searches, biological examinations, and take statements from 25 individuals based on the evidence obtained during the investigation. In this context, operations were conducted at 24 different addresses in Istanbul’s districts of Beşiktaş, Sarıyer, Beyoğlu, Kağıthane, and Üsküdar, as well as at one address in Muğla.
